How to stop the impending catastrophe
By now, every one in the world has got alarmed and taken note of the serious consequences of global warming. Unfortunately precious little is done to stop the impending danger now. Every industrialized country puts the blame on other countries and continues to emit carbon gases unashamedly. No country on this planet is yet willing to come to an agreement on cutting down on emission of green house gases now. Greener homes and cars would be prudent option for all countries. Fossil fuel use emits so much of green house gases and so all countries must start using wind energy on a massive scale. Solar power too is a very good source of alternative energy. Homes and offices must be constructed in such a manner that natural cooling is possible. Cutting down on air-conditioning would cut down on chloro fluro carbon emissions. Cars that guzzle gas must be avoided and hybrid cars that use hydrogen gas or battery power must be preferred.
Global warming
If you have seen the documentary film, “an inconvenient truth” by former American vice president Al Gore you would agree that the end of the world is very near. Carbon emission from factories around the world and millions of automobiles has heated up the atmosphere. This has made the ice in the North Pole to melt. Ice glaciers have started melting into water and so the sea level is rising up rapidly. Many islands and countries are likely to be submerged under sea water in the coming decades. Every year the sea level is rising up by at least a few millimeters due to the rapidly melting ice. With loss of more ice the heating up of the planet is going to become more rapid pretty shortly. There would not be enough ice any more to reflect away the heat of sunlight. Millions of people would die or loose their homes and occupation when sea water enters their homes.
